Merry Christmas!

Been a while since my last post.  Very busy building a website for a school.  Spent Christmas eve with my head buried in php, html, and css.

What is Christmas really about?  Well, for me it is about thanking God for his gift, sending his son, Jesus Christ, into this cursed world full of lost people who were and are still in need of a savior.  However it doesn’t stop there.  Christ came, and he died on a cross outside of Jerusalem, rejected, shamed, bearing and taking the punishment for every sin and wrong ever committed and to be committed, and he paid for it all in full.  He rose again on the third day and went back to heaven, but he’ll be back.  That’s the other part of Christmas for me, looking forward to the day he returns, to fulfill the second part of Isaiah 9:6-7.

6 For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor,[d] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 His government and its peace
will never end.
He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David
for all eternity.
The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will make this happen!

That’s what I think Christmas is really about.  Yes, the gift giving and family time are definitely great, but, remembering what God has done and looking forward to what he has promised is what it’s really about.

I hope you all have a good Christmas and a wonderful time with your families.
